On Water!
On Water! is the fourth and final action proposed by the collective of architects and activists WOOPS (Work On Outrageous Public Spaces) in Bolzano, exploring the theme of water as part of get wet!, promoted by Lungomare and developed within the European programme SIT-PLU (Situated Creative Practices for the Pluriverse).
On Saturday, 3 October, as part of BAW Bolzano Art Weeks, starting at 5 pm, the three members of WOOPS — Hannes Gröblacher, Lilli Lička and Mira Samonig — already known in the city for their previous interventions in red suits, will act as agents of an imaginary “Agency for Active Dilution”, this time expanding their operation.
From 6 pm onwards, an action unfolds on the Museion Bridges, inviting the public to come into direct contact with the water of their city. Water is explored through its different states and transformations: immersed in the steam rising from the river, splashed by excess droplets, and invited to embody the gurgling of water through their own voices.
Following WOOPS’ previous actions and explorations, which have drawn attention to the role and presence of water in urban space, the final action brings the public into direct contact with its physical presence.
