FLUID GEOGRAPHIES
Reconsidering the Notion of Border in Contemporary Art
Where Venice
Upcoming
Lungomare is a partner of FLUID GEOGRAPHIES. Reconsidering the Notion of Border in Contemporary Art, an international conference promoted by NICHE (Ca’ Foscari University of Venice) and the University for Continuing Education Krems.
The event will take place in Venice on June 18–19 and will explore, together with invited artists and researchers, how art engages in defining and negotiating its own borders—and how it acts to reshape their meanings. On Wednesday, June 18 from 3 to 6 pm, Angelika Burtscher and Daniele Lupo will take part to the open roundtable.
On Thursday, June 19 in the afternoon, a screening session will feature the video work The Answer is Out There by ZimmerFrei (Anna de Manincor), commissioned by Lungomare for the European project on borders B-Shapes, The Water’s Tale by Virginia Eleuteri Serpieri, and the photographic volume Nel vedere, lungo il fiume by Amedeo Sartori. All the artists and the publisher bruno will be involved in a round table discussion together with Angelika Burtscher and Elisa Del Prete.
